Since 1943, Bentley Robe Company has been the oldest black-owned and operated manufacturer of clergy attire. We use only the finest material available to provide a high-end and quality made attire that even our clients in Africa enjoy.
Founded by the late Reverend Dr. William L. Bentley, the Bentley garment factory began within the church, manufacturing ecclesiastical garments. For more than 60 years, Bentley Robe Company has crafted distinctive, beautiful choir robes and accessories.
During the 60 years of being in operation, our business has traveled through the hands of some very proud and knowledgeable presidents. As stated earlier, the late Reverend Dr. William L. Bentley was the founder of Bentley Robe Company, after his passing, the late Hobson R. Reynolds became the 2nd president of the company’s history.
The late Reverend Rene G. Thompson served as the 3rd president of Bentley Robe Company. Previously, Ms. Shirley Thompson was the administrator. The current owners are Dr. & Mrs. Vernard Trent. Through the generations, the presidents and administrators stayed true to the founder, the late Reverend Dr. William L. Bentley’s vision, work ethic and motto.
“The LORD is on my side, I will not fear. What can man do unto me?” – Psalm 118:6
